A contemporary extension to a pair of Victorian semi's for Hull City Council's Assertive Outreach Team.
The exposed steel frame and brick panels hint at the Victorian trait for expressing structure and using it as decoration. The steel frame was an early design decision due to the adjacent Maple tree.
Retaining the tree was an achievement in itself and is utilised to provide solar shading in the summer months. In the winter months the leaves drop, allowing the sun to warm the building through the glass.
