About Us

Ettirdge Architecture is based in Hessle (near Hull), East Yorkshire. The majority of our work is in and around Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We have a local focus but a national client base, with numerous heritage projects in the Peak District and a variety of schemes in London.

David Ettridge set up the practice in 2005 following periods in both public and private sectors. Our ethos is firmly centred on ethics, environmental awareness and a good dollop of passion.

Ettridge Architecture is now well established. Our team offers a mix of youth and experience, providing traditional architectural services, with a 21st century twist. We offer award-winning design combined with twenty years’ experience in ‘green’ building practice – which is finally becoming an every day topic.

We realise that creating sustainable architecture is not only environmentally important, but socially and morally valuable too. We are now being appointed purely for the financial benefits that ‘green’ design brings. Whether it is about saving on a building’s running and carbon costs, or adding to the asset value of the end product, environmentally aware design will make or save a client money. A ‘green’ approach will add value to any form of construction – be it a domestic extension or an airport.

The main drivers behind the practice have remain unchanged since the outset:

  • To add value through good design
  • To promote sustainable, environmentally conscious buildings
  • To create beautiful spaces to live, work, learn, play, relax and enjoy life

“Award-winning architecture is achieved via a curious blend of painstaking attention to detail and absolute passion. Good design does not cost more money – it adds more value.”  – David Ettridge
